The world is rapidly growing and every aspect of the technology is also developing into their respective new phase. The industry has also developed into its new phase which is called ‘industry 4.0‘. But really, what is industry 4.0?
Industry 4.0 is basically name given to the updated phase of industry which is automation and information exchange between the manufacturing machines. It also includes internet of things (IoT), cloud computing and cognitive computing.
The previous phases of the industries are:
1st: Mechanization, water, and steam power.
2nd: Mass production and Electricity into production.
3rd: Automation and Computerization.
4th: Cyber-physical system
In industry 4.0 the machines will be directly linked to the other machines and can collect data and analyze the patterns between them and will able to take decisions which are impossible for human in a certain period of time.
The basic principle of industry 4.0 are
1. The machines will be internally linked to each other. This will be possible because of sensors and internet of things.
2. The machine will be able to collect a large amount of data and could take a decision based on the pattern in the data.
3. It will provide a
4. The ability of the system to take decisions on their own by identifying the patterns in data.
Despite the various kind of advantages, industry 4.0 have many challenges to face. The increased use of machines and robots which will take the place of humans and will create job problems for workers. The problem of IT data security has not been solved as of yet. It will also create redundancy in the various departments which will take over by the machines.
Industry 4.0 is in the development phase and yet to evolve a lot. According to some experts, it is just a hype created in front of the manufacturing industries.
