What is AI?

For the most part of the evolution of computer science, there was less thought about whether machines will think like humans or not. The concept of AI came into the picture in the late 90s.

The term AI or Artificial Intelligence relates the both machines and humans with each other. The agent or the system developed built using AI should act or think like human. In fact, the whole AI concept states that the machines working more like human or even better.

Human (Act & Think)

The AI agent does the same work as the human. Take an example of Turing test proposed by Alan Turing where human communicates with the machine textually. The machine replies the human in such a way that the human must not understand whether the reply came from a human or a machine. If the human doesn’t, then the machine passes that test. So, obviously, it is clear that the system acts like the humans.

Rational (Act & Think)

Another constraint for the satisfaction of the system as the AI system is that the system must act and think rationally. Thinking and acting rationally means choosing the right option from the available ones and act on it.

Machine Learning

Machine Learning comes under Artificial Intelligence. It connects mathematical statistics and AI. This uses the procedure of self learning and applying it in future. Example is text prediction using SVM algorithm. In this process, the system learns from the training data-set and then applies the prediction on the testing or target data-set.

The term AI is the branch of computer science which deals with the making of the system which will think and act like rationally like a human. And eventually, defeat. The AI has many fields like in Robotics, Automated Vehicles, Speech Recognition, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Neural Networks. In AI, there are some things which are extremely related to the AI and are knowledge, problem-solving ability, learning, planning, reasoning.
